  1. As white oil volatilized, silicone sealant become harder, displacement performance become more poor. Then the silicone sealant can’t meet the displacement of base material caused by expansion on heating and contraction on cooling.
  2. The quantity of cross-linker is not enough, that makes all the raw material of silicone sealant can’t create a chemical reaction for completed cross linking network, there is a disadvantage of structure and make silicone sealant easy to crack.
  3. The silicone sealant is already not in the expiry date.
Because of incorrect operation when use silicone sealant
  1. The design of joint is not reasonable, if width of joint is less than 6mm, silicone sealant will be easy to crack.
  2. A lot of bubble occur during the process of using silicone sealant, will make silicone sealant easy to crack.
  3. The thickness of sizing silicone sealant is not the same, that makes silicone sealant easy to crack at the thin position.
  4. External forces occur during the curing process of silicone sealant, that makes silicone sealant easy to crack after curing.
  5. Using silicone sealant when the temperature of base material is too high or too low, after curing silicone sealant will be easy to crack.
  6. Some nature disaster such as earthquake or typhoon would make silicone sealant easy to crack
  7. When three-sided adhesion happens, the performance of displacement is only within about 15% of its original designed data, in this case silicone sealant easy to crack.
  8. The surface of base material isn’t cleaned well, solvent of cleaning is not suitable.
  9. The surface of base material isn’t dry enough when using silicone sealant.
  10.  The base coat is not suitable or not in the expiry date.
  11.  The quantity of base coat is too much, when using silicone sealant, surface of base material is not dry enough.
  12.  The silicone sealant isn’t pressed well enough when use it.
  13.  Moisture condensation available on the surface of base material if the environmental   temperature is lower than 5℃.
  14.  Compatibility test and adhesion test should be finished before using silicone sealant, otherwise the adhesion of silicone sealant and base material can’t be guaranteed.
